Product Categories help you organize your catalog so customers can browse your store easily. It helps you group similar items together in your store so customers can easily browse, discover, and navigate your products. Categories also allow you to control how products are displayed (List, Grid, or Card view) and in what order they appear, helping you highlight best-selling or priority items effectively.
How To Add A Product Category?
On the Merchant panel click on "Catalog"
Then switch to the "Category" tab
Click "Create New"
Add Product Category Info in Preferred Languages
Tailor your product category information to customer choices. This feature allows you to present product category details in the customer's chosen language. For example, if a customer selects Spanish, all added information will be displayed in Spanish for them.
Note: Request the Administrator to add more languages from the language setting if your desired language does not appear.
Category Name
Enter the distinctive name of the product category that will be displayed to customers.
Examples:
"Dresses", "Skincare", "Makeup", "Accessories"
Sort Order
Use this number for sorting purposes; the series starts from 0, arranging product categories & their listed products as 0, 1, 2, and so on.
Example: If “Sneakers” is 0 and “T-shirts” is 5, "Sneakers" will appear above "T-shirts."
Select View
Determine the display type for your product category and its listed items, choosing between List, Grid, or Card View.
Image
Add an image for this product category. The required resolution is 512x512 pixels.
The category image is useful in cases when you make use of the "Collection Grid" feature to link sub categories with the main categories.
Finally, click the "Save" button to add the product category, and it will be available in the select list when adding products.
Manage Product Categories
Now, you can conveniently manage the availability of the product categories by toggling between published and unpublished. Additionally, you can perform quick actions such as, editing, or deleting it directly from the list.
Once a category is created and products are added to it, you can easily control the display order of those products. Simply click Edit on the category and rearrange the products in the desired order to define how they appear to customers.
